Why I Built This
The Story Behind House of Emet
Why I Built This
I didn’t set out to start a school.
I was just a momma on her face, crying out for her son.
A former teacher, heartbroken by what I saw in the classrooms. And a daughter of God, desperate for a better way.
I asked Jesus, “What do I do?” And he answered not with a strategy, but with a call:
“Build the house. I’ll give you the blueprint.”
The Blueprint became House of Emet. Not just a school, but a sanctuary of restoration. A place where learning is Spirit led. Where children don’t just memorize, they walk in wisdom. Where faith and academics don’t compete—they co-labor.
Why “Emet”?
Emet is the Hebrew word for truth. But not just any truth—God’s truth. Whole. Eternal. Faithful. The kind of truth found in Christ alone.
In John 14:6, Jesus says,
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
So when we named House of Emet, we weren’t being clever. We were declaring: This house belongs to Jesus
Why I Built This
Maybe you’re a parent watching your child struggle. They feel too loud for the classroom, too sensitive for the pace, to misunderstood to thrive. Or maybe you’ve tried homeschooling, but it’s intense and you’re tired. I see you—because I was you.
My own son was labeled, overlooked, and eventually dropped out. Not because he couldn’t learn, but because the system wasn’t built with him in mind.
But God knew. And where the pain tried to bury us, purpose was born.
House of Emet was built for families like ours. For parents who are praying for answers. For kids who need more than a seat, they need to be seen. For communities ready to raise leaders, not just students.
This isn’t school as usual. It’s discipleship through education. A place where faith isn’t an add-on, it’s the anchor. And where Jesus Christ is not just welcomed, He’s enthroned.
What We Believe at House of Emet
We believe that every child is created on purpose, with purpose.
We believe strong literacy is a Kingdom weapon.
We believe faith and academics should walk hand-in-hand
We believe children thrive when identity, truth, and skill are taught together—with parents as partners.
